Vaccinations in the Annex.

Protection should fit the life your pet leads. At The Village Vet+ Annex, Dr. Astin and our care team take your pet’s age, health, previous vaccines and everyday exposure into account — from time outdoors to boarding and travel. We help you understand what is recommended, when it is due and how to keep a clear record.

Your questions, answered.

Which vaccines does my pet need?

Recommendations depend on species, age, health, previous vaccines and exposure risk. Core vaccines protect against important diseases; other vaccines are considered for particular lifestyles. Bring your pet’s records and mention daycare, boarding, travel and contact with other animals.

How often are vaccinations needed?

There is no single schedule for every vaccine or pet. Young pets usually need a series, while adult booster intervals vary. Dr. Astin will review the specific vaccine and your pet’s history before recommending when the next dose is due.

Does an indoor pet still need vaccines?

An indoor lifestyle does not eliminate exposure or the need for preventive care. Discuss your pet’s actual routine, including escapes, travel and other animals in the household. Our team can explain which protection remains important.

What if my pet is overdue or has no records?

Book a visit and bring any information you have available from a previous clinic, shelter or breeder. Dr. Astin will work with you to create a vaccination plan that meets your pet’s needs.

What side effects should I watch for?

Mild tiredness or soreness can occur. Contact us if you are concerned or signs persist. Facial swelling, difficulty breathing, collapse or repeated vomiting after vaccination need immediate veterinary attention.

Can my pet be vaccinated if they are sick or taking medication?

Tell us about symptoms, medications and past reactions before vaccination. Dr. Astin will decide whether to proceed or adjust the plan. Do not stop prescribed medication to prepare for a vaccine without instructions.

How much do vaccines cost at the Annex?

Ask our team for an estimate based on the vaccines due and whether an examination is required. Boarding or travel paperwork may involve separate requirements. Bring those documents so we can help you plan the right visit.
